Coronavirus in Scotland: Large-scale production of new Covid vaccine begins in Livingston

Manufacturing of a coronavirus vaccine candidate will begin in West Lothian today.

The vaccine is being produced at Valneva’s site in Livingston, West Lothian.

If it is approved by regulators, French-Austrian pharmaceutical company Valneva is expected to deliver up to 60 million doses to the UK later in the year.
