Ross County midfielder Rocco Quinn hurled rocks to break a window and then used a wheelie bin to get in to what he thought was his own house in Inverness. Once inside, the 25-year-old went upstairs to a bedroom. But neighbours, believing a housebreaking was under way, called the police to the newly-built semi in Inshes Mews. A horrified Mr Quinn finally realised his blunder when he came face-to-face with officers from Northern Constabulary. Mr Quinn was spoken to by police but will not face any action over the bungle. He has offered to pay for the damage to the neighbour’s house. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday, 4 January, after Mr Quinn misplaced his keys. A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “I heard noises and looked out the window and couldn’t see anything at first. Then I heard a wheelie bin banging and clunking and then an almighty smash.” The neighbour said police then arrived and Mr Quinn was led away in handcuffs. A Northern Constabulary spokesman said: “Police received a report from two members of the public who witnessed a man causing damage to a window in Inshes Mews.”
